Tea-light candle sconces

you get: to make your very own cute little candle sconces that are each approx. 4cms x 7cms
duration: 90 minutes

You’ll love creating your own little tealight candle holders/sconces.  No previous experience necessary!!  

These fun tealight candle sconces are absolutely a blast to make and easy to do too.  You can make as many of them as you like in the 90 minute time-frame.  You can come back and do this workshop as many times as you like, this is what we discovered in 2022 that people wanted to do for their gift-giving.  You don’t need to be “creative” to make these tealight candle sconces.  Come along and have some fun!

During the workshop you will learn:

• the basic and correct skills required to use glass as an artistic medium
• the fundamentals of glass cutting
• a brief introduction on how glass performs in the kiln: you’ll be introduced to the endless potential of glass fusing and slumping. Warning! You may be addicted! I did!

What you get:

• everything you need to make your cute candle sconces
• each base is approx 4cm x 7cms
• make as many as you like in your 90 minute class
• all materials used, including your choice from at least two dozen different colours of glass
• use of our studio tools
• kiln firing
• the candles ready to light when you collect them
• to forget about the real world for a couple of hours
• to enjoy great music!

You’ll be surprised at how clever you are at making something wonderful.  No previous experience required for this class and you’ll be photographed during this workshop, please let me know if you don’t want this to happen.

WHAT TO WEAR?

Please wear clothes that includes some kind of sleeve (not a singlet top) and closed toe shoes.  (No thongs, no sandals that expose your toes.)   You need to be able to climb one flight of stairs to my studio.

DO I BRING ANYTHING:

If you’d like to bring refreshments, alcohol or nibbles to this workshop – that’ll be fine, assuming you are over 18 years of age.

WHEN DO I GET MY TEALIGHT CANDLE SCONCES?

Once the class is over and the clean up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from me showing the progress of your candle sconces and I’ll let you know when they are ready to be picked up, usually between 10 – 14 days after your workshop.

Your masterpieces will only be kept here at my Richmond studio for 3 months after the workshop and they’ll be donated to charity after that time.

LOCATION:

My studio is a part of the Swan Street Artist Studio complex. We are on Level 1 of 550 Swan Street Richmond. Its a contemporary art space run by Professional Artists, you’ll love having your workshop in this unique first floor warehouse.

Car parks are surprisingly easy to find around our studios. We are on the intersection of Swan Street, and Bendigo Street, Richmond.  You can often park right outside – fortunately we are at the quiet end of Swan Street.  Remember there are Clearways in Swan Street, Richmond and the parking here is 2 hours so we’ll set our alarms and make sure we all move our cars at the 2 hour point.  (As this is a 90 minute workshop so you probably don’t have to worry about your parking.)

According to Google, there’s a 6-minute walk from Burnley Railway Station to 550 Swan Street (its 450 metres away).  Tram 70 stops a few metres from our front door.

I run loads of private workshops.  Don’t be shy, bring your family and friends and have the studio to yourselves!  It’ll be so much fun.  Its a great catch up venue for you all and a fabulous way to create memories together.
