Make 4 fabulous dichroic glass jewellery pieces!
Looking to make some amazing jewellery. You’ll love this 90 minute workshop and be thrilled with the discovery of a whole new art form.
Build four jewellery pieces using dichroic glass, this’ll be such fun, and especially if you are an absolute beginner. I will fuse them gently in the kiln after you leave in order to create a stunning 3-dimensional finish.
This class is perfectly designed just for you, and you don’t have to be specially “creative” as you will be helped every step of the way as you learn this fascinating skill.
Soon you’ll be creating your own amazing design in the colours of your choosing, and it’s even more fun when you come along with family members or friends. Best of all, every item you create will be 100% original and 100% yours!
During the workshop you will learn:
- The basic, correct skills needed to use glass as an artistic medium
- The fundamentals of glass cutting
- What happens to glass in the kiln at different temperatures and be introduced to the endless potential of glass fusing and slumping. (It just might be the beginning of a lifelong obsession! It was for me!)
- How to design your own mini art glass masterpieces.
- How some colours change at different kiln temperatures.
- The basic difference between cold glass, warm glass and hot glass.
You’ll be surprised at how clever you are at making something wonderful! Progress pictures will be taken and emailed to you so you know what’s happening step by step to your glass art! During the workshop I’ll take photographs of you for my social media and my website, if you don’t want this to happen just let me know.
Please wear clothes that includes some kind of sleeve (not a tank top). Please wear closed toe shoes. (No thongs, no sandals that expose your toes.) You need to be able to stand securely on both feet and climb one flight of stairs to the workshop.
Once the class is over and the clean up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from me showing the progress of your items and I’ll let you know when they are ready to be picked up. This usually happens within 2 weeks of the workshop.
Your creations will be kept here at the studio for 3 months after the workshop, they’ll be donated to charity after that time.
If you’d like to bring alcoholic or other refreshments or nibbles to this workshop – that’ll be fine, assuming you are over 18 years of age.
For the moment only with people who are fully vaccinated can attend my classes. (I have 2 family members who are in the “at risk” category) so please be aware of this before you book. I am fully vaccinated as of April 2022. We adhere to the Covid19 rules of the day. If you have been unwell, let me know and we’ll reschedule your workshop without any charge as many times as is required.
If you’d like to organize a workshop with more friends at your location or here at Swan Street Studios, please feel free to get in touch, it’ll be easy and fun to arrange this with you. It’s a great team building exercise and a fabulous way to catch up with family and friends. There is room here where I can run this class with up to 8 people.
If you don’t see a time and date that suits you here please email me and we will add a new date that suits you.
I look forward to seeing you soon and introducing this amazing craft/art to you.
You’ll love this workshop! See you soon,
